What is the difference between ICD-S40 and ICD-Uxx?

The ICD-S40 has an RS232 (serial) port. The ICD-Uxx has a USB port. Each of these is a way to connect your unit to your PC.

The ICD-Uxx also can power your target board from the USB bus, while the ICD-S40 would require that you use a power supply for your target board.
