Timer1 Crystal question
PostPosted: Mon Mar 03, 2008 1:34 pm     Reply with quote

Is it possible to run the Timer1 OSC with 1Mhz external crystal ? I see 18F reference and it suggested value in 32-200Khz range .

If yes what Capacitor value should I use for 1Mhz?

PIC=18f452 ,Freq=40Mhz.

Thx .

From the 18F452 data sheet:
Quote:

11.2 Timer1 Oscillator
The oscillator is a low power oscillator rated up to 200 kHz.

if I set the timer to operate with internal oscillator it can reach to 10mhz freq when PIC run at 40Mhz .

I think an external clock with 1Mhz Freq can solve the problem ,but I dont have access to external clock source in my board .

Is it possible to connect the PWM output of PIC to timer1 clock input ?
I want to drive the timer with PWM module .

Use a wire and connect the two pins.
