LCD 16x2 with PIC16F873
PostPosted: Sun Oct 14, 2007 11:08 pm     Reply with quote

Hello, I just bought lcd 16x2 and i searched example program on internet. As I am a new user, I know nothing about it even conecting pins between lcd and pic16f873.

I am using CCS with MPLAB IDE v7.60, here is exaple program

#inlude<16f873.h>
#fuse HS, NOWDT, NOPROTECT, NOLVP, NOCPD, PUT, BROWNOUT

#use delay (clock = 10000000) // 10MHz

#include<lcd_drv.c>

main() {

set_tris_a(0x00);
set_tris_b(0x00);
set_tris_c(0x00);

initlcd();
clr_lcd;

locate(0,0);
out_st("Welcome");
delay_ms (3000);
clr_lcd;
}

1) when i compile, the program seem did not understand what are " initlcd, clr_lcd, locate(..,..), out_st(.....) ". If anyone know why, please help me what should I do with my softwares, MPLAP or CCS??

2) there are no detail about conecting between PIC and LCD, which pins of LCD should I conect to PIC16f873?

thanks

See my post in this thread. It has links to the LCD driver that you
should use, and a link to a schematic.
