Mplab IDE ICD 2 Debugger

i am looking to buy a Mplab IDE ICD 2 Debugger and want to know if it will work with CCS v4.038. can one set it up to be used inside of CCS so one does not have to go into mplab to use it? as i understand the icd does the programming and reprogramming, is this correct?

currently i am using a jdm type programmer and icprog to program through a serial connection and just want to change so i can do it all in CCS and USB.

You mean inside the PCWH IDE.
