what is a good reasonably priced method to transmit data from one pic to another wirelessly? i dont know what is a good one that can transmit at about 10k doesnt need a huge range too.

Good, cheap, simple:

http://www.maxstream.net/products/xbee/xbee-oem-rf-module-zigbee.php

Minimal interface w/ pwr,tx,rx,gnd. Other features available if you want. Essentially a transparent wireless serial connection.

Invest in the dev board for radio programming/config changes.

$19 US each for the radios.
