Connecting Two RS232 Devices to PIC18F452

Hi, Yasir Here,

I am working on this Payment machine, I require to connect to PC and a Finger print Terminal with RS232. So, I would require two serial connections, Ok I know about the MAX232 Stuff which will use the PIN 25 & 26. what about the other Serial (RS232) device how to connect it to the 18F452

Any Ideas, will be appreciated.

A PIC18F452 has only 1 hardware USART port.

So what you could do is use an external UART chip such as a MAX3100 or use a software UART.
