CCS c not working

hi , i have downloaded the 30 dayz trial version of CCS C compiler.
i tried to compile an example program ,but a dialog box open and says
"Acess violation at ----- address module in PCW,exe" and it dun compile .
same prob arises when i try to compile from dos or mplab.
plz help me out i shall be very thnakful to u .

See this post which explains how the proper compiler must be selected
in the drop-down box at the top of the IDE:

Also see the CCS demo page, which says the demo is limited to only
three PICs. Don't try to select a PIC which isn't one of those three.

Also note the "Microchip 14 bit" selection only applies to the 16F877
and 16C544 PICs in the demo.

Yea, that acutally got me not to long ago.

I had been using ccs for about a year and then switched everything to my x64 workstation, tried to compile and nothing.... Spent about a hour checking different things.

The problem is this that the drop down menu is empty, it contains no items? how to get out of this problem.

my prob is solved .Actually there was a problem with the downloaded demo version .Its now working well.
