question about compiler files

When I compile a file (F9 command) the compiler creates several files, I haven't understood how I can tell the compiler to create only .hex files and not .cof and so on

What compiler do you have ? PCB, PCM, PCH, PCWH.
Reading the CCS Compiler Manual you will find how to setup the compiler options in the chapter: "Invoking the Command Line Compiler"
