Software Proto Board question... |

Hi all,
Just a question about the Software Proto Board.
#1. The rs232 - Can I access the rs232 pins from the breadboard, or are they only connectable via the 2 "jacks" they provide? My issue is if I need to drive a serial output (lets say a serial display), I will have to make a special cable if I can only get access to serial via the jacks
Are there any other proto boards that can allow different pin pics without adapters etc?

CCS makes at least 14 different boards. Which one ?
Also, CCS doesn't have the manuals or schematics available for
download, so it's likely that only someone who bought the same
board as you did, will be able to help you. |

Based on the zoomed-in photo of the board, it looks like CCS brings
the TTL-level serial-port signals up to four pins on the 3M strip. This
is on the upper left side of the board. It's labeled "RS232" and "A"
and "B" on the board.
The reason I say "TTL-level signals" is because I see one track on
the board that, for certain, goes from pin 10 on the MAX232-type
chip to the 3M strip. Pin 10 is T2in, which is a TTL level signal, so
it makes sense that all the rest of the signals would also be TTL
and not RS-232 levels. |

I have the same board . PINS 11 and 12 on the bread board are connected to MAX232 PINs 9 and 10 respectively and PIN 13 and 14 on the Bread board are conneted to 12 and 11 on the MAX232 respectively .
they are not hard wired to the PIC so you can use them seperatly i have have done it without any problem .
