Anybody having problems/success programming/debuging 16F689

Howdy,

I noticed that this part is listed as 'beta' for programming and needs an adapter for debugging.

I have the Microchip 'adapter' and it dosen't seem to work at all, with the ICD-U40 and programs correctly 1 out of 5 times.

Verify shows patterns like

--- Actual 2000 Expected 3000
--- Actual 0000 Expected 00C8

Seems to program OK when the chip is cold. Then when you reprogram it (within 5 minutes) you get the errors. Leave it alone for an hour and it will program OK, followed by failures.

Tied 3 or 4 chips, same results. 5 volts is rock solid.

Anybody seen similar results ??? Thanks

DennisB
