My first real poject using PIC and CCS, I'm looking to create a battery powered GSM project using a SAFT 3.9v 16amp battery, looking for some advice on a low external component count buck / boost reg capable of keeping the 3.9v output as long as possible
Am I right looking at buck / boost or is there a better way
Thx in advance
P.S. Need shutdown pin.

If your max battery voltage is +3.9V and the output should stay at +3.9V, you need a pure boost.

Pure buck or pure boost is easier. The worst case is to have your battery voltage vary through your output voltage. Avoid it if possible. _________________ The search for better is endless. Instead simply find very good and get the job done.
