I am not able to install ICD-U40 driver.
I connected my ICD-U40 to PC(Windows xp,me,98) with the usb port, and then the green LED on it turned on. But Windows hardware wizard program said " could not find the correct driver and not install. I downloaded the usb driver from ccs web site.
Is my ICD-U40 bad? |

How does the device show up in the device manager? It should show up as CCS ICD-U40 with and ! mark(if the driver is not installed) |

Try setting your browser to "Work Offline" before you try and install the device.
The ICD-U40 uses the FTDI chip for USB comms and consequently the low level FTDI USB driver. According to FTDI, Windows may try to check the internet for a new driver version. When it fails to find one, it then fails to install the local driver. I've had the same problem with other FTDI devices and they work just fine with it set to offline.
Hope this help. |
