I'm new to microcontrollers. I downloaded the free version of CCS C Compiler and am trying to compile the sample source code on the website for the stepper motor. I receive the error:

A #DEVICE required before this line

in the pic1674.h file. I tried to list #define pic16C74, but then it gives me the error:

"unknown device type"

Is there something simple that I am doing wrong?
