mine stoped also but when I try to reprogram it with the Epic Programer I have it dont work :( can you use just a normal Programer to do this?

I have a home maded ICD-S40 and work fine. But when I try to update firmware with icd.exe, failed with message:"Cannot start firmware reload: Did not ack message 31".
I am removing PIC18F252 from ICD-S40 socket and then program it with stand alone programmer and ICD-S40 start work with new firmware.
Any ideas why update from icd.exe failed ? ICD Control Program is V2.25, and ICD-S40 firmware is V1.39.
