How do i use device editor to add a new chip?
PostPosted: Wed Jul 06, 2005 2:12 am     Reply with quote

I need to add in PIC12F683 using PCW 3.36.0.10.
I try using PIC12F629 as a reference and create a new PIC12F683 however i still cannot find the PIC12F683.h??

I reopened device manager and it PIC12F683 is reflected as existing already..why??

I don't think you can add new chips with Device Editor...you can just modify the existing ones.

You've asked this question three times already, and you've gotten the same answer from two different people.

The best remedy for this is:
http://www.ccsinfo.com/ccscorder.shtml#CCompiler

If it's your copy or your company's copy of the compiler, then you can renew your PCW maintenance subscription instead of buying the compiler.

Imagine the engineering hours you're spending trying to save some money.

The other day you were asking for someone to give you the .h file for the 12F683 or whatever that was. CCS's source code has the following message:

Code:

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
////        (C) Copyright 1996,2003 Custom Computer Services         ////
//// This source code may only be used by licensed users of the CCS  ////
//// C compiler.  This source code may only be distributed to other  ////

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Are you a currently a licensed user? Hmmm. Mr. Green
I doubt it because you were complaining last week that you didn't want to spend $99 on the compiler.

Go write it in assembly or something.
