not enough RAM for variables
PostPosted: Wed Jun 01, 2005 1:37 am     Reply with quote

My compiler says not enough RAM for variables when I declare
char [50] keys;

Though, after compiling, it says 41% RAM used ?

I am using PIC16LF877A 384 B RAM

I want to declare an array of 72 bytes.. it seems to take up much more RAM than 7 arays of 10 bytes??

Hi Christopher,

16F serie have memory banks, maybe there is fragmentation.

If you want to use large array try to declare them first in row.

did you use #device *=16

Good luck.

Gerrit
