PIC to PIC communication
Posted: Fri Oct 22, 2004 9:32 am
I need to send a 18 bit binary number from one pic to another pic of the same type. I am using PIC16F877A. I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to do that without using the serial port. I don't necessarily need to clocks to be syncronized. Is there a way to just send data out of one output pin and into an input pin on the other pic

One could also look at using SPI or IIC serial transfer. Both are readily available standards with minimal hardware. _________________ The search for better is endless. Instead simply find very good and get the job done.

Serial communication may also be used ( in this case you need not use the MAX 232 IC ).
thanks

Nooooo!, have one PIC with speech synthesis and the other with an "electronic" ear.
The transmitter could speak the number in a human voice and the receiver could listen and recognise this.
