How much memory does fat16.c and mmcsd. c require?
PostPosted: Thu Oct 29, 2020 10:36 am     Reply with quote

I've been unable to find this info anywhere. How much ROM is required to run the CCS fat16 and mmcsd drivers? Can it be done on a PIC16 microcontroller?

I only have access to PIC16 MCU's with 8k ROM right now. This is obviously not enough and I do get out of ROM errors. I won't be able to upgrade the MCU until I can answer this question.

Thanks,

Based on your previous post, you have this CCS compiler:
Compiler - CCS C compiler V5.075
MPLAB version - 5.30

You make a project for the Ex_fat.c file, and compile for the 18F67J60,
which is the PIC specified in the file. Then look at the top of the .LST file
after you compile it. It will tell you how much ROM and RAM were used.

To answer your question, we'd have to do the same thing.
