You've got to have patience ! one day is not long enough for a reply. Maybe 1/2 of the people here have real jobs, using PICs in products and may not get here everyday. Others don't use that LCD module.
I don't but...have you tried Google to locate a proper datasheet for the device? have you got it to work in normal 'character' mode? I'm assuming that this GLCD will work in simple character mode.....as I don't have it or a proper datasheet. The link you posted only has 5 pages NONE of which describe operation of the module.
You might try the 'code library' here for a 'similar' unit. Most device tend to follow a 'standard' interface and basic I/O access but without detailed information I can't help further.
If you find a correct datasheet(usually from the manufacturer) ,post the link, so we can help you better

you actually have a hitachi
LMG 6511 with EL backlight
look closely at your photograph and you can see this too
it has a standard 14 pin interface and ought to work fine with
the FLEX LCD driver
http://www.ccsinfo.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=24661&highlight=flex
is a VERY reliable and as the name implies flexible
driver
best of luck |

Hi,
ER...... The flex_lcd driver is for character LCDs. The one in the 1st post sure looks like a grahic LCD to me, and that is how the requestor refers to it in the thread subject.......

If you know how to read the Hitachi part number, the unit is 200*64. It's a 'no longer manufactured' part, with CFL backlight. As Ezflyr says, this is not compatible with the text driver.
The data sheet found is for a completely different display. Even if you had a driver for this, you also need data on the voltage needed to drive the EL backlight (typically something like 90v).
The Hitachi data sheet references for it date to 2001, and are 'archive' (you can request them, but they charge for them). I doubt if they were ever published on the web.
The 7941's, are the segment drivers, and the 7942 gives the line drives. Even if you had a complete driver for this chip, you'd need to know the connections used to interface it.
Seriously, it'd cost more to sit down and bus out every pin to the connector, and design a driver for this, than to go and get a simple graphic LCD with a known driver.
It's only of use to somebody who has a working system that just happens to use this display, for whom it could be a spare part. Otherwise it is really a dustbin part. |

I have to agree with Mr. T about this display, sadly it's Ewaste. Just downloaded the 7942 datasheet and unless you are willing to spend a month or two you may never get it to work. Perhaps IF you know WHAT it came out of you MIGHT get some documentation from THAT device.
As it is...sorry...just a huge time waster. This from a guy with 35 year old laptops, portables who like a 'challenge'.
