So it is not supported ....so I gave device editor a go. Now I have never got this to work before since I suspect there is more to things than just cloning a similar chip changing the ID and modding the xxx.h file. As expected there is something needed in the compiler code itself
Ex
I get Abbrevia inflate error no more compressed data in the stream.
If some has ever got CCS IDE Device Editor to add a newer chip and got it to compile and program a new chip it would be nice to know the process.

This sounds like a question for official CCS support as much as this user forum.
