PIC 16F1828
PostPosted: Sat Feb 19, 2011 1:22 am     Reply with quote

Hi,

I want to use PIC16F1828 and I am using ccs compiler version 4.017.
I find that this compiler doesn't support PIC 16F1828. Do I need to upgrade my compiler ? Or am I missing something in the process ?
Please reply.

Regards

4.017.
Even if the chip was supported, you need to upgrade.
The V4 compilers at this point, were 'poor alpha' releases, with little working. The compiler got to being perhaps 90% useable around V4.05x, and 98% useable, around the late 4.06x versions. I doubt if even 1 in 4 of the 'demo' programs would actually work with 4.017.....
The 1828, is quite a recent chip, and postdates the 4.017 release, by probably about 1.5years....

Best Wishes
