Dead part on ICD-64, trying to figure out what the part is..
PostPosted: Fri Jan 29, 2010 12:59 pm     Reply with quote

I have a bunch (8) of ICD-64s that no longer work. They died from static. After poking around i have determined that the data line no longer toggles. I have traced it to the following part on the PCBs:

8 pin SOiC, marking WH-125

does anybody know what that part actually is? I can post a pic if you can tell me how....

thanks

If you put "WH125" (without the quotes) into Digikey's search engine,
http://www.digikey.com/
it comes up with some Toshiba dual bus buffers with the markings:
Quote:

WH
125

But they are not in the Soic-8 package. They are smaller packages.

Also, there is no dash "-" shown in the markings in the data sheet.
See the diagram on page 1.

I swear I tried that! It looks like the SSOP package. The function
sounds right though, a bus buffer. I will replace them and let everyone
know if it works.

I've gone thru this, I used digikey p/n TC7WH125FKFCT-ND and all is well now.

It is interesting the icd40 pgd, pcm lines seem much more robust than the icd64, but I have had failures.
