hey, i just figured this out a couple of days ago so i can help you. I used a 16f690 but you can use any pic which has pwm capability. The code is in another post a couple of days ago. Search 16f690 and pwm.

How can I drive a solenoid operated valve with the PWM output from PIC16F876A, such that flow through the valve will be controlled by the duty cycle of the PWM output? I am afraid that the MCU output can not drive the solenoid operated valve directly as it has the current rating of 2-2.5 Amps.
Please help.

Post a link to the data sheet for your valve.
