dsPIC33FJ256GP710 ICD Hangs after setup_oscillator()

I am running a dsPIC33FJ256GP710 with a 10MHz crystal. ICD-U40 #101 firmware v2.26. I am trying to switch the oscillator up to 80MHz using setup_oscillator(OSC_CRYSTAL,80000000,10000000);

The unit hangs as soon as the setup_oscillator statement executes while running on the ICD.

If I program the part standalone, the clock gets set properly and everything works fine.

Any ideas?
