Hello,

it uses standard RS232 function with an ENABLE=pin pin option to drive the transceiver (75176 or similar) output enable. A convenient option is to use the transmitter enable also as receiver disable (with a pullup resistor at the procssor RxD pin) to supress reception of your own TX data.

The peers are required not to send simultaneously, this has to be achieved by the protocol. If you use e. g. MODBUS, it is guaranteed by the respective driver.
