Building with Jenkins
PostPosted: Mon Dec 03, 2018 12:01 pm     Reply with quote

We are trying to use Jenkins to automate the build process. I think Jenkins is getting stuck because of the compiler's status window. The compile process never completes. Has anyone used CCS with Jenkins and if so what command line switches did you use?

Here is the command I use.

start /b /wait "C:\Program Files (x86)\PICC\Ccsc.exe" +FH "main.c" +LN +T +A +M +Z +Y=9 +EA #__18F46K22=TRUE

Thanks!

On other tools, you need +PE.
That makes the status window only appear if there are errors.

I just tried that and it still doesn't work. I'm not fond of the idea that if there is a compiler error my build server will get stuck.

+P01 will make it appear just for one second errors or not.

Normally even when using a build tool, it is useful to actually see errors.

However if +PN didn't fix it, suggests there is an error. Remember the compiler needs write permission to the directory where your file to be compiled is stored, and to where it's temporary files are. You may need to change the compatibility settings to the compiler to 'run as administrator'.
