Greetings! I have a PCB with PIC18F67K22. The PCB is working correctly and I just want to load a newer firmware. BUT here comes the problem - PICkit 3 returns an error "Target Device ID (00000000) does not match expected Device ID (00005180)". I`ve checked the connections - everything is OK. The power supply is OK. There is nothing connected to PGC and PGD (pins 42 and 37). I`ve programmed it last time through this ICSP! Can you give me an advice where could be the problem?!
Thanks!
PP: I`ve noticed if I supplied the controller through PICkit 3 on 3.3V, the programmer detects it! This is strange!

This is probably a little late but your statement "The power supply is OK." leads to questions, specifically when and where? Did you measure with both test leads at the chip? Assuming ground is everywhere when measuring voltages works much of the time, but when it doesn't life gets very confusing and gray hairs ensue. Voltages that are present when loads are off and disappear when loads appear are equally confusing.
