16F917 miscalibrated oscillator
PostPosted: Fri Jul 26, 2013 3:38 am     Reply with quote

Hello there.
I have programmed a serie of about 100 pieces 16F917.
But one single one seems to have a miscalibrated internal oscillator (simple delay_ms() function shows this clearly, this particular one is 20% to slow).
PICKIT2 has a function to auto-calibrate the internal oscillator, so no problem.
But I realized this function is not available for this particular chip.

Is this a problem of the chip or the PICKIT2 programmer software?

if it is 1 in 100 and the 99 are within 2%

then it has to be the chip.
