hex changes |

Hi everyone!
I'm developing a bootloader via GPRS, it works fine, but the problem now is the amount of data that I have to send to the microcontroller to load the new firmware.
I compare the 2 hex files and only send the differences.
But, when I make a little change on the program (add a delay for example) then almost all the hex file changes and I have to send almost all the hex file again.
Is there a way that this changes only affect a small part of the hex file?
Thanks! |

If I'm reading your request right..
simply said ..no...
however...
If your code is 'modular ' and accepts 'constants', you could just send a file like a dotINI in Windows. This file would contain the delay values, rs232 options, LCD row/line info, etc.
It is NOT an easy assignment though, as 99.99999% of the code MUST be 'fixed', only changes like time delays, LCD screen positions could be easily altered.
