Prime8 Serial numbering doesn't work

Has anyone managed to get the Prime8 to successfully program unique serial numbers to multiple devices?

Whenever I try to program anything with a serial number it says the download failed and the log shows this:

FailureAccess violation at address 0076E0E5 in module 'ccsload.exe'. Read of address 00000000


It doesn't program with the command-line interface either.

Serial numbers seem to work when I try programming using Linux but the Prime8 is identified as an ICD-S and will only program slot 1.

Has anyone else had this problem? It only occurs when I use the automatic serial numbering. The hex files all seem to program correctly otherwise.
