Stepping over delay_ms() in debugger

I have PCM 4.086 and MPLab 8.20 and a PICKit2 and a 16F886 chip. When I am debugging and try to step over the delay_ms() function, the program jumps to the #use delay statement and gets stuck. At that point, I cannot stop or restart the program. I must reconnect with the debugger to get unstuck. Is this a normal issue? Are there any tricks to avoid this? I suppose I could always put a breakpoint after the delay statement and run to it, but that is awkward. Any ideas?
