I can not find a high quality LCD display 320X240
PostPosted: Sun May 04, 2008 2:45 am     Reply with quote

Hello ,

I am having a problem to find high quality Graphic LCD Display,

I need 5.7" Blue White LCD Display,
I have tried many companies products such as Newheaven, Winstar, OSD Displays but somehow their quality not as I expected.
The problem is CCFL backlight has much better view angle and high contrast,
But it has some declines, I need a LED Backlight Display,
If is there anyone has an idea that will be appreciated.

I have not used a display of that size but have had good success using Crystalfontz displays up to 160 x 160. Look at this link:

There should not be any difference in the view angle or contrast of a CCFL backlit display, versus an LED backlit one. The only downsides of the LED backlight, are that they tend to be slightly less even, while they have the big advantage of supporting dimming to nothing. They are also mechanically far more rugged (the number of CCFL tube failures I have seen, is 'legion').
I'd suspect what is happening, is that you are looking at 'standard' versions, and happen to be getting LED backlit versions using a somewhat older LCD technology.
Most companies, will (provided this is for more than 'one off'), happily provide any version of their displays with any backlight. I have in the past had custom LED backlit versions done for applications where better dimming (and low temperature operation), were required, and companies happily sent single versions for prototyping (swapping the backlight is very easy), and pricing was directly competitive for the production units.
Talk to a supplier, rather than just looking at what is listed in their catalogues.

Best Wishes
