OT: SMT & Lead Free Soldering
PostPosted: Fri Feb 08, 2008 12:42 am     Reply with quote

Slightly off topic but probably of interest to a number of members who are yet to get into using SMT parts or Lead Free soldering.

I have just come across the following site giving short video tips on SMT and lead free soldering. The guy doing the tutorial keeps using the technical term "Sod Her", however for the benefit of the Brits out there he's not having a go at the wife but refering to "solder".

Circuit Board Rework Guide

Here's another similar resource. A set of tutorials on PCB assembly, repair and rework with videos (mov format). Section 7.0 "Soldering procedures" covers soldering of the surface mount (SMT) components.
