I don't know why, but I always keep having trouble with my I2C lines on my PIC. Something keeps happening to them for no apparent reason and they no longer work after that. Then I get a new PIC and use it instead and it seems fine. But I really would like to know if anyone has a reason for this? My pics are using 4.7k ohm resisters for I2C. It only happens to my I2C lines. The project I'm doing uses 6 pumping motors separated by opto couplers which are turned on with 5V from PIN B2. Then I have servo motors which use PIN0. I also have analog to digital using pins AN0 and AN1.
Any help would be welcome, thank you.

Do your I2C lines run near to your 'pumping motors' by any chance? Then you might be getting inductive spikes coupling to the I2C line. We would need to see a circuit schematic to know for sure.

Check to see where your common ground point connects.
if you do not have a common ground anywhere, that could be your problem. worst case, you should have a common ground back at your AC panel.
