automating damping ratio
PostPosted: Fri Oct 05, 2007 3:27 am     Reply with quote

Now that my reading from adxl330 accelerometer are correct I want to go further then this. I want to determine the damping ratio of the signal from accelerometer i.e. if my accelerometer is attach to a car driven over a bump and suddenly brought to halt. I expect a decaying signal. Anyone know how to write code for an envelope algorithm to find the maxima and then easily interpolate (with logarithmic) them to find the e^-bx damping decay parameter.
