HyperTerminal problem |

HI,guys,i have one problem here,when i use hyperterminal and open COM1 with 115200 bps transmit speed, it works fine, but when i increase the speed to 230400 bps, it says unable to open COM1,, so anyone know how to solove this problem? thanks! |

Greetings,
The baud rate you have specified is very high. Perhaps the PC hardware you are using cannot operate at this speed. This is especially true of older computers. Do you need this high of a baud rate?
Possible alternates:
try another serial program -> SIOW.exe, TeraTerm, etc?
try a USB-serial converter (check specs for max speed; by pass PC hardware)

You also can try to turn on your terminal program BEFORE you turn on the hardware.
Terminal programs I use sometimes fail when turned on after the hardware is turned on, especially on high baudrates.
