CCS Compiler with MPLAB ICD2
PostPosted: Thu May 31, 2007 11:01 pm     Reply with quote

Hi
I am using CCS C from MPLAB envirnment. I am using MPLAB ICD2 also for development.

On 16F648A when I compile and run using MPLAB ICD2 the code branching seems not crossing page boundary properly.

Any other setting required for using MPLAB ICD2 with CCS in MPLAB?

If the code is smaller all seems ok.
Please suggest

What's your version of MPLAB and the CCS compiler ?

It's possible that there is some problem with the COFF or COD file
format, involving the version of MPLAB or the CCS compiler.

Maybe not the cause of your problems but:
MPLAB 7.50 is reported to have many problems, try reverting to v7.40. I don't know the status of the new v7.60 version.

The v4.023 compiler version is not very stable either. The v4.xxx compilers started to become more or less usable around release 4.030. Read the sticky thread on top of this forum for more info. Short: all v4.xxx are still considered to be beta releases and should only be used if you really need the new features and / or new devices supported. V3.249 is the last known stable release and therefor still available for download from the CCS website.
