SPI bit bang and the CS5463 Cirrus Logic

Has any one used the Cirrus Logic Power/Energy ICs CS5460A, through the CS5467?
I'm looking for some SPI interface code.
I have written about 10 SPI bit bang interfaces in the past for other IC and had no problems but this one is getting the best of me.
I can read from the CS5463 although not consistently about 60% of the time.
But I can not write to it at all.
I'm using an 18F4550 and compiler 3.249 and 4.024.
I'm working on a small test program not and will post soon.
If any has worked with this IC or Cirrus Logic IC that use as there SPI let me know.
