Device could not be started - Serial/USB example
PostPosted: Fri Jan 19, 2007 9:58 am     Reply with quote

Hi All,

I am compiling the serial/USB example and I have now managed to get it uploaded to the PIC and also my USB circuit is working as when I plug it into the USB port of my PC the PC installs a new comms port. However there appears to be a problem with the comm port and it states that the device could not be started.

Is there anything else that I need to make this example work? Have I forgotten some driver file or some such? I havent used any... Windows just recongnised it as a comms port.

Any help would be appreciated, as a newbie I have gone through hell to make the programmer for the chip, get the chip programmed, to make a working USB circuit and get some response from the PC... If I could just make that last step I would be able to make huge leaps from there!

Thank you

Peter
