Debug functionality

Hi :
I am currently using ver 4.013 with PIC18 simulator IDE , the pic programmer is a kind of JAMMER home made, but still not connected until I obtain desaired results from simulator.
The question is why I cannot enable debugger in CCS beacause it searches for ICD . Why does it need an attached pic programmer (if ICD its one) for debug to work,? thanks a lot

The CCS PCWH IDE requires a CCS debugger tool (ICD-U40, etc.)
to do hardware debugging. See this thread:
