PROBLEM ICDS-40 PIC18F452 AT 40MHZ
PostPosted: Wed Nov 22, 2006 4:54 pm     Reply with quote

I'm using an ICDS-40, when I try run at 40 mhz this show 10 mhz speed, but if if I interrupt power source and conect again, when devive is reconect whit ICD it makes at 40 mhz.

If recompile and reload target firmware, returns another time to be connected to 10 mhz, I must disconnect the power again and to reconnect the ICD from the soft, has somebody this problem?, can you help me.

icd control program version is rev 2.51 and firmware rev. 1.39

This is normal. After programming the PLL oscillator mode in the PIC,
you must "cycle the power" (turn it off and on) to enable the PLL mode.
The ICD has a PIC inside it. So it also has this requirement.
