USB Flash Drives

Does anyone have any information on reading USB flash drives? I've found lots of documentation on Windows programming but would like to directly read a flash drive with a PIC.

If you want an easy solution with built in FAT support you may want to look at adding the new FTDI vinculum chip or module to your project.

FTDI Vinculum VDRIVE2

these look like are really nice additions to a PIC project, especially for data logging. The basic chip supports 2 USB channels and is connected to a micro by either SPI or Serial and has a builtin command structure for reading/writing files to a pen drive.

There is more info at:

That Vinculum product looks great and simple to use.

Thanks to both of you for the info.
