Problem connecting using ICD-U40
PostPosted: Sun Apr 30, 2006 12:52 pm     Reply with quote

Hi All!

I'm using CCS-PCWH v3.235 and ICD-U40 to write and debbug my PIC18F4550 board.

I am able to compile and the run the program using the debbug mode in the compiler.

But when i try to burn the code independently using the icd.exe i am unable to connect and detect the target chip.

The icd-u40 shows COM3 as the only port, to which i am unable to connect. I dont understand souldn't it detect a USB port instead of COM port. Is it a problem with the windowsXP that i dont have any access to the ports?

Any suggestion to get the program working without using the debugger mode?

Thanks.
