Trouble with debug mode on ICD-U40

I am new to CCS and am using the ICD-U40 with CCS PCWH 3.239. I was working on some code tried to go into debug mode and the status word said attaching and then gave me the following error: "No response from icd, check connection and power to icd". I have tried connecting to different USB ports and get the same message in each case. When I go to "tools" Menu then "ICD" and download the runtime version of the code it works fine. I have restarted my system and it made no difference? Any ideas why I can't debug? -Thanks for your time - Mark

I found the problem. In the debug configure it changed to look for a serial ICD and not the USB ICD. Thanks for all your help. - Mark
