pic16LF873 with higher than 4MHz Xstal?
PostPosted: Tue Jul 05, 2005 5:34 am     Reply with quote

Hi

Has anyone got experience with the low power chips, in particular the
pic16LF87X series?
The spec sheet says that provided the voltage is > 3V then can have a Xstal running at 10MHz.
I cant seem to get my pic16LF873 to run with anything higher than 4MHz.

Can someone please help me?

Thank you in advance.

Someone once told me you have to disable the Brown Out Reset as it still has the thresholds for the 5V supply rail. Never used the LF versions my self (yet) but might have to soon so would be interested if that works.

Hi

Yes I have already disabled the brownout- the LF works for 4MHz Xstals, but not for the 8MHz with 3.3V supply voltage.

That is what I am wondering about.
