I am a new user of PCWH with Ver 3.151.
In the driver foler, there are PIC18xxx8.h, PIC18xxx8.c.
And in the file PIC18xxx8.c,
there is the statement shown below,
" //// CCS provides an example, ex_can.c, which shows how to use this //////// library. "
But there is no the file "ex_can.c"
Where can I get the file.
Please let me know.
Best regards.

I e-mailed CCS for the same question, they told me that
ex_can.c will come out with their CAN_Demo_Board in the
very near future ... so, call them, and please let us know
once you got it.
Best wishes

What was the time you asked the same question ?
I think that "ex_can.c" must be included in " C:\Program Files\PICC\Examples ".
It is basic and common sense that the exam file must be included in the directory.
PCWH wizard also does not give CAN wizard utility.
I am very disappointed.

Have you looked at Microchip's website? There are several application notes on CAN including one for C routines (AN738). These use Microchip's C but you should be able to translate them and use the routines that are included with PCWH.
Hope this helps.

right after I updated PCWH_3.150 when I saw the driver like you, so, it should be about 4 to 6 weeks ago.

yes, when the CAN_Demo_Board comes out, they will put it into the drirectory as common sense suggest.

me too,
however, they must have 100 things listed as TBD (To Be Done).
someone on this user forum had ported Microchip's AN738 to CCS, search CAN for 365 days and you should find it. He mailed a copy to me, and my colleague tested it, works fine.
Anyway, I am still sitting here waiting for CCS's demo board with the ex_can.c, well, in case of really urgent need, I will call them and asking for a beta testing circuit and a ex_can_beta.c
Best wishes

Hello,
I am looking for the ported code of microchip's AN738. Is someone able to help me? I didn't find the homepage of Dale Herman or another source for this code.
Best wishes, pom |

If you did a search of the forum for Dale Herman then you would find
this thread:
http://www.ccsinfo.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2720&highlight=dale+herman
If you then went to the link given in that thread, you'd find this product
page:
http://www.apoxcontrols.com/usbcan.htm?
He started a company with someone else, a couple years ago.
They're selling a product in the page above, that very likely uses the
code that you want. Once you're in a company and especially if you
have partners, it's very unlikely that you're going to give away your
source code. I didn't see it in any of the links on the product page
above. You can download the HEX file for their firmware, but that's it.
Note: Their webpage is slow loading, and wants to use Flash on every page. |
