I have connected the PIC 16f628A in ER mode, But I am not going to use the frequency given by the external resistance. I would like to use the internal 37kHZ mode. How would I do that. I used the INOSC_IO fuse. The data sheet says that we need to clear specific bit PCCON(8Eh) to make the PIC work in 37khz mode. I tried to clear it using ASM, but it did not work. Is there any fuses or configuration bits, which I can make use of, to work in this mode. I tried changing the #use_delay to clock=37000, so that it might operate in 37khz internal oscillator frequency. But the PIC did not work. Any sugestions and comments are most welcome.

Don't use ASM. Use #byte or #bit to define the PIC's register, or a bit
in a register. Then you can access it directly with C code.
