ICD-U40 with Linux |

hello
i try to switch my os to linux. now i have a problem with my icd-u40. how to us it on linux? ccs send my a tool, but it seems that it only works with a seriel icd. does anybody have an idea how it works? by the way is a debugger available for linux?

Unfortunately I have not yet seen a debug environment for the PIC micros that runs natively under Linux. There are native debuggers for the Atmel AVR and TI MSP430 micros.
You may have luck running the CCS IDE under Wine, the windows API. I am not sure if the USB interface will work this way, I do know the serial does. Another option is VMware, but this would run a true Windows environment from within Linux (or the other way around, your choice). |
