SPI on PIC18F6720

Hi, I am trying to stablish a kind of communication between PIC18F6720 and DataFlash AT45DB041B, but there is no clock (SCK) on the system
How can I generate clock on the system?

setup_spi(SPI_MASTER | SPI_H_TO_L | SPI_CLK_DIV_16);

The clock is generated when you spi_read() or spi_write().
