No respose from ICD-U40
PostPosted: Thu May 20, 2004 7:53 am     Reply with quote

Hi,

Running the ICD-U40 with the PCWH compiler under windows ME, every
time my code was running and I click on the stop button in the debug
window, I get a "No response from ICD" error. After this the interface
hangs, with blinking green LED. If I now click the reset button I get I
few more error messages, before the ICD works normaly.

I've programmed the 1.25 firmware to the ICD-U40 and working with
PCWH V 3.190.

I've also tried to run the compiler and the ICD-U40 on my laptop with windows XP, there I get buffer overflow messages after clicking stop.

Is there someone who hab the same problem and can someone give me
an solution ?

Hi,

again it's me. I've solved the problem with help from
CCS support.

The cable between ICD-U40 interface and my controller
was to long. Keep this connection as short as possible
10 inch max. helped.

If the debugger does not stop

Hi,

I've another problem solved. If you use the ICD_U interface
don't set the low voltage programming pin to output set it
to input instead.

This sometimes helps if your debugger hangs, when you try to stop
the program from running.

Also don't use the sleep mode, if the controller is in sleep mode,
the debuger can't stop it anymore.

Bye, Bjoern.
